Challenges for Munger University
Munger University in Bihar is facing difficulties as it recently failed to provide files during the audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India. Following this, a case has been filed against the university in the Patna High Court, demanding a payment of ₹3.76 crore. The university is struggling to overcome these setbacks, as a new case has now emerged against it.
Elite Falcon Files Lawsuit
Elite Falcon Private Limited has filed a case against Munger University regarding the non-payment of wages to around 70 outsourcing employees. These employees were promised an advance payment of ₹80,000, but have not received their dues for the past 20 months, resulting in a pending payment of ₹3.76 crore. The outsourcing employees are now facing financial difficulties due to the non-payment of their wages.
Payment Dispute with Elite Falcon
Munger University has made a partial payment of ₹55 lakh to Elite Falcon Private Limited for the wages of the outsourcing employees. However, a significant amount of ₹3.76 crore still remains unpaid. The dispute arose when the Bihar government issued new wage rates for outsourcing employees in January 2024, which were lower than the agreements previously made by the university. The case has now escalated to the High Court, with the university and the company at odds over the payment terms.
