Rohatas, Bihar: Residents live in fear for 6 hours due to presence of leopard
Residents of a city in Rohatas district, Bihar, lived in fear for 6 hours due to the presence of a man-eating leopard. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the leopard entered a house in Lala Colony in Dehri police station area. As soon as the news spread, panic gripped the entire area, and people were advised to stay indoors and keep themselves safe, especially children and the elderly.
Rescue operation launched to capture the leopard
The residents of the affected area were advised not to venture out of their homes, especially children and the elderly. Subsequently, a rescue operation was initiated. Range officer Abhay Singh of the Forest Department informed that the team is actively working and the leopard will be captured soon. Despite a 6-hour campaign to capture the leopard, the ferocious animal managed to evade capture.
Leopard escapes after failed attempts to capture
It is reported that the leopard escaped from the direction of the toilet of a house. Despite the 6-hour operation by the Forest Department team, the campaign was unsuccessful. The forest department teams from Dehri and Sasaram tried to tranquilize the leopard but were unsuccessful. Taking advantage of the situation, the leopard escaped late at night. The leopard had entered the house of retired teacher Shashi Prabha in Lala Colony, where the residents locked it in a room with courage. The Forest Department was also informed about the incident but they failed to capture the leopard. The residents are now being urged to exercise caution.
