Heavy Rainfall in Patna and Surrounding Areas
The recent rainfall has brought relief to the residents of Patna and several other districts in Bihar. While Patna witnessed light showers on Wednesday evening, a moderate rainfall on Thursday morning provided relief from the scorching heat. However, the issue of waterlogging emerged in several areas of Patna due to the rainfall. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for rain in 30 districts including Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, and Purnia. Light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in these areas within one to three hours.
Decrease in Temperature Across Bihar
Over the past four years, Bihar has experienced a decrease in rainfall during the monsoon season. The years 2020, 2021, and 2023 saw a reduction of 45%, 19%, and 48% respectively compared to the normal rainfall levels. The Meteorological Department has observed a significant decrease in maximum temperatures in many districts of the state due to intermittent rainfall. Most districts recorded temperatures below 40 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours, providing some relief from the heat.
Forecast for Rainfall in Specific Areas
According to weather experts, the monsoon trough extends from Ganganager, Hisar, and Dehri to the northeastern Bay of Bengal. Additionally, there was a cyclonic circulation around Jharkhand. The sea level has risen up to 3.8 kilometers above sea level in the regions around West Bengal. Due to these weather systems, light to moderate rainfall is expected in southern parts of Bihar, including the capital city of Patna, over the next 48 hours. The northern parts of Bihar may also experience scattered showers during this period.
पटना समेत कई जिलों में आसमान से राहत की बूंदें बरसी है। गर्मी से राहत देने वाली बारिश के साथ ही सड़कों पर जलजलाव की समस्या भी उत्पन्न हो गई है। मौसम विभाग ने पटना समेत 30 जिलों में बारिश का यलो अलर्ट जारी किया है। तापमान में गिरावट के साथ ही बिहार के कई जिलों में मध्यम स्तर की वर्षा का पूर्वानुमान है। लोगों से अपील की गई है कि खराब मौसम के दौरान सुरक्षित रहें और बारिश के समय सुरक्षित स्थान पर जाएं।
