In Nalanda, on Monday evening, a young man was shot and killed. The incident took place in the Oli Bigha village under the jurisdiction of the Chandi police station area. The deceased has been identified as Nirajan Kumar, the 22-year-old son of Shailendra Prasad, a resident of Oli Bigha village. Late at night, the police took the body to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
Shot dead in front of the house
The brother of the deceased, Shambhu Kumar, said that his brother was sitting near the door of their house. At that moment, some miscreants from the village came to their door in an intoxicated state and fired a shot. The bullet hit his brother’s throat, causing his death. The reason for the incident is not clear. Relatives say that the miscreants have a strong and domineering nature and want to establish their dominance. That is why they carried out this incident in an intoxicated state. Villagers reported that on Monday evening, there was firing of about a dozen rounds. After the shooting, there was chaos in the village. Villagers took shelter in their homes to avoid the firing.
Police investigation
Regarding the incident, Hilsa DSP Sumit Kumar said in a press release that the involvement of some individuals in the incident has been reported by the deceased’s family members. The cause of the incident is said to be a previous dispute. The body has been sent to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for investigation and post-mortem, and a search operation is underway to arrest the accused. The law and order situation is normal. The police have reached the scene and are conducting an investigation.
