Passengers traveling through the Bhagalpur and Lucknow route need to check their train schedules carefully for the next two days. Due to essential modernization work for the automatic signaling system near Vyas Nagar in the Lucknow division, Indian Railways has announced a traffic block. This infrastructure upgrade will affect train operations primarily on February 25 and February 26, 2026, leading to route changes and delays for several popular trains.

Which trains are diverted and skipping stations?

Railways have decided to divert several trains to bypass the ongoing work. On February 25, six major trains will not touch their regular stops at Lucknow, Ayodhya, and Varanasi. Instead, these trains will run via a different route through Kanpur Central, Prayagraj Junction, Chunar, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction (DDU).

The key trains affected by this diversion on February 25 include the 15743 Balurghat-Bathinda Farakka Express and the 15668 Kamakhya-Gandhidham Express. Other trains like the Kota-Patna Express (13240) and Indore-Patna Express (19313) will also follow this changed route. On February 26, the 13239 Patna–Kota Express will also take the diverted path, skipping its usual halts.

List of trains facing delays

Apart from route changes, some trains will be regulated or held at different stations, which will cause them to reach their destinations late. Passengers should be prepared for delays ranging from 45 minutes to 3 hours.

Train Name & Number Date of Impact Expected Delay
13010 Doon Express Feb 25 3 Hours
13006 Amritsar-Howrah Mail Feb 25 3 Hours
12356 Archana Express Feb 26 2.5 Hours
12381 Poorva Express Feb 26 1 Hour
13257 Jansadharan Express Feb 26 45 Mins

Refund rules and passenger advice

For passengers whose journey is affected, the Railways has set specific refund rules. If your train is diverted and does not stop at your boarding or destination station, you are entitled to a full refund without any cancellation charges. Additionally, if a train is delayed by more than three hours at its originating station, passengers can claim a full refund by cancelling their ticket.

Railway officials advise everyone to file a TDR online within 72 hours if they choose not to travel due to these disruptions. To avoid inconvenience at the station, it is recommended to check the live running status on the NTES app or dial 139 before leaving your home.
