What happened at Patna Junction?

Upon receiving the alert, Railway officials led by Deputy Station Superintendent Himanshu Kumar immediately attended to the situation at Platform No. 1. The railway team quickly shifted the mother and the newborn to the Karbigahia Railway Hospital for medical care. Doctors at the facility have confirmed that both the mother and the child are safe and out of danger. The railway staff acted promptly to ensure the passenger received necessary support without delay.

Why was the baby named ‘Bahubali’?

In a kind gesture, the railway official Himanshu Kumar named the newborn “Bahubali” after ensuring their safety. The Indian Railways provided all medical assistance and hospital facilities completely free of charge. Sheela Devi was traveling in the sleeper class with her husband, Indal, when the delivery occurred on the moving train. The prompt action by the railway team turned a medical emergency into a moment of relief for the family.

Railway Rules for Medical Emergencies

Passengers facing health issues during their journey can dial 138 or use the RailMadad app for quick help. The train staff is trained to coordinate with the nearest railway hospital to handle such emergencies efficiently. While pregnant women are allowed to travel without a specific medical certificate, carrying a doctor’s note is always advised for safety. The railway authorities continue to provide support to passengers in distress through these dedicated channels.
