What’s inside:
This article talks about a major accident that was narrowly avoided at Rosda Ghat station in Samastipur-Khagaria railway section when a tanker wagon overturned.
On Monday evening, there was a serious accident that almost happened at the Rosda Ghat railway station. A tanker wagon loaded with oil turned over when its axle broke while changing its wheel. This caused panic in the station area for some time.
The incident occurred because the number of trains was less that evening, so railway workers were at the site to change the wheel of the wagon. They were using a crane to lift the loaded tanker when suddenly the axle snapped, causing the wagon to flip over and raising a part of the railway track by about three to four feet.
Despite this incident, train services were not completely disrupted. Trains continued to run on the side lines at both ends of the platform. Once the news broke, around 100 railway staff quickly arrived at the scene to start the rescue and recovery work.
The tanker was carrying 64,000 liters of high-speed diesel. As a precaution, 29 other tankers were safely moved to Narayanpur earlier in the day. Officials mentioned that if the tanker had completely fallen over in the station area, it could have led to a major disaster.
The railway authorities assured everyone that there was no need to panic. They are working quickly to upright the overturned wagon and restore the track. The railway administration is keeping a close eye on the entire situation.
