Tragic Death of a Newlywed Woman in Samastipur

In Samastipur, a newlywed woman named Jyoti Kumari (22) was found dead in her in-laws’ home just a year after her marriage. Her body had marks on her neck, leading to suspicions of foul play. The woman’s family has accused the in-laws of her murder over dowry demands.

The father of the deceased, Ram Sagun Paswan, revealed that Jyoti Kumari had married Vikas Kumar Paswan from Rajghat village in Hasanpur just a year ago. However, after a few months, the in-laws started harassing her for dowry, demanding one lakh rupees. Despite her father’s inability to fulfill the demands, the harassment continued, leading to tragic consequences.

Investigation and Legal Action

Upon receiving information about the woman’s death, the police sent her body for postmortem to Sadar Hospital to determine the cause of death. Jyoti Kumari’s father has filed a complaint, accusing not only his son-in-law but also other family members of harassment and murder. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter to bring the culprits to justice.
