According to Ayurvedic expert Bhuvanesh Pandey from Patanjali in West Champaran, Kuchala is a versatile plant. Its seeds are the most commonly used part. It has a strong and bitter taste. According to Ayurveda, Kuchala improves the functioning of the intestines and gastrointestinal system, and also improves appetite. It can also provide relief from asthma, constipation, abdominal swelling, migraines, diabetes, pain, allergies, fever, and physical weakness. In English, it is known as Nux Vomica.

According to Ayurvedic expert Bhuvanesh Pandey, research has shown that using the extract of Kuchala leaves can provide relief from body pain. The leaves of Kuchala contain analgesic properties. In homeopathy as well, the leaves and seeds of Kuchala are used. It is also rich in antioxidant properties. According to research, the antioxidants present in Kuchala can be effective in treating various problems.
Benefits of Kuchala (Nux Vomica) According to Ayurvedic expert Bhuvanesh Pandey, the use of Kuchala can also reduce the problems caused by influenza or flu and viruses. Research has shown that the extract made from the bark of the Kuchala plant is effective in fighting the flu. It is also used to alleviate insomnia, allergies, fever, numbness in hands or feet, digestive problems (such as nausea, vomiting, constipation), headaches and migraines, sensitivity to light, stress, back pain, menstrual problems, and male infertility.
Do not use directly, it is poisonous. Ayurvedic expert Bhuvanesh Pandey explained that using Kuchala without purification can be toxic to the body. The fruit and seeds of Kuchala are poisonous, so it is purified before being used for medicinal purposes. To purify the seeds of Kuchala, they are cooked in a cloth bag with cow’s milk for about three hours. Then, they are soaked in fresh cow urine for a week to purify them. According to Ayurvedic expert, Kuchala is never used directly, but in different forms. It contains chemicals similar to poison. Therefore, if consumed directly, it can be harmful to a person. This is why some people also refer to it as poison nuts. It is highly recommended to seek advice from an Ayurvedic expert before using it.
