Increasing Participation of Women in Bihar Elections
In Bihar, women are showing more trust and enthusiasm towards democracy as compared to men. In the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, women are actively participating in voting. The voting data indicates that women have voted 11% more than men.
Higher Voter Turnout Among Women in Sixth Phase
According to the figures released by the Election Commission, in the sixth phase, the voting percentage of women was 62.95% while men recorded a voting percentage of 51.95%. This means that women have voted 11% more than men. Women’s participation was also higher in the overall voting percentage of the sixth phase.
Varied Participation Levels in Different Constituencies
In Vaishali, the highest number of women cast their votes. The enthusiasm among women was highest in the Vaishali Lok Sabha constituency with a participation rate of 68.63%. On the other hand, Maharajganj witnessed the lowest participation among women with only 58.36%.
Low Enthusiasm Among Women in Maharajganj
Among the eight Lok Sabha seats in the sixth phase, Maharajganj stood out for having the lowest participation of women voters. The total voter turnout was recorded at 58.27%, with women’s participation at 58.36% and men’s participation at 46.68%.
