A young man killed his own mother on Monday in the Alamganj police station area of Patna. It is alleged that the young man was asking his mother for money for drugs and when she refused, he attacked her with a pestle, resulting in her death.
According to sources, Vikas, a resident of Chauraha locality, attacked his mother on the head with a pestle on Monday evening. His mother, Tara Devi, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Nalanda Medical College. Unfortunately, she was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Accused son arrested
The police arrived at the scene upon receiving information about the incident and arrested the accused son, Vikas. He is currently being questioned by the police. However, no complaint has been filed by the relatives yet.
Alamganj police station chief, Abhijeet Kumar, stated that they received information about the killing of Tara Devi (60), wife of Gopal Bhatt alias Gopi Bhatt, who works in the survey office in Muzaffarpur. The elder son, Vikas, has been accused of murder. During police interrogation, family members revealed that Gopal had gone to Muzaffarpur for work on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, Vikas demanded money from his mother for drugs. When she refused, he struck her on the head with a pestle. The mother fell to the ground, covered in blood. Upon hearing the commotion, neighbors rushed to the scene and broke open the door to find her lying unconscious on the ground.
Relatives claim that the accused, Vikas, is unemployed. The police are taking legal action in this matter.
