This article discusses the suspension of two police officers in Motihar for corruption related to a death case and their attempt to protect the accused.

In a serious move against corruption, the DIG of Champaran Range, Hatikishore Rai, has suspended a Circle Inspector and an Inspector from Sugauli. This action comes after an investigation by the SP of Motihari, Swarn Prabhat, revealed that these officers pressured a victim’s family to shield the accused in a tractor accident that resulted in a death.

The incident dates back to August 15, 2025, when a man named Mohd. Alias was tragically killed in a tractor accident. An FIR was filed against unknown individuals, but instead of pursuing justice, the police allegedly chose to act unethically.

Reports indicate that within a week of the accident, Circle Inspector Ashok Pandey was found to have colluded with the tractor’s owner. He reportedly extorted Rs 60,000 from the victim’s family and pressured them to drop the case against the tractor owner.

Further investigations revealed that the tractor owner’s brother is also a sub-inspector in the Bihar police. The call records showed that the Circle Inspector was in regular contact with him, which raised suspicions about their dealings and delayed the investigation for months.

As a result of these findings, both Ashok Pandey and Inspector Nidhi Kumari were suspended for their roles in mishandling the case. The police administration has made it clear that they will not tolerate any actions that tarnish the image of the police force.
