Arrest in Cyber Fraud Case
The Mumbai Police conducted a raid in the village of Budhwakura in the Mohanpur Thana area to arrest a suspect involved in cyber fraud. However, the suspect managed to escape upon hearing about the police’s arrival. The cyber fraud case involved swindling an official of Rs. 21 lakhs under the guise of conducting KYC.
Investigation Details
Following a complaint by the victim, the Mumbai Cyber Cell registered a case of cyber fraud. The police reached Mohanpur based on location tracking in search of the cyber fraudster. The suspect had made unauthorized withdrawals totaling Rs. 21.70 lakhs from the official’s account, distributing the money among four individuals.
Further Actions Taken
The funds were withdrawn from ATMs in Bhagalpur and Baljor in Bihar, and online purchases of three ACs were made using an app. The Mumbai Police is currently investigating the case to track down the cyber fraudster and recover the remaining amount.
