In a tragic incident in Khapra village, Munger, a dispute over a mere 2.5 feet of land resulted in the death of two brothers, Shailesh Kumar and Mukesh Kumar, on Tuesday. The incident occurred under the Tetia Bambar police station area.

What Happened?

Arguments flared between Shailesh and Mukesh over Shailesh yielding 2.5 feet of land for a pathway. The altercation escalated into a physical fight where both brothers stabbed each other. Shailesh died on the spot, while Mukesh succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital.

What Did the Police Say?

Upon receiving information via Dial 112, police arrived at the scene. Khadagpur SDPO Anil Kumar and the forensic team also reached the location to investigate the matter. Syed Imran Masood, SP, Munger, confirmed that police would proceed based on the family’s statements after receiving the application.

What is the History of the Dispute?

The four brothers, residents of Khapra village, had previously divided their ancestral land. However, a disagreement persisted between Shailesh and Mukesh regarding the pathway. According to villagers, Mukesh used to sell polythene on a bicycle and carried a knife with him.

What Evidence Was Recovered?

A ‘khanti’ (small ditch digging tool) was recovered from the crime scene.
