During the 77th Republic Day celebrations at Sandis Compound in Bhagalpur, Minister of Industries and Road Construction Dr. Dilip Jaiswal shared major updates regarding infrastructure development in the district. The minister confirmed the timeline for the highly anticipated four-lane road project and announced new funding for widening existing routes to ease traffic congestion.
Status of Munger-Mirzachowki NH-80 Project
The minister stated that the construction of the Munger-Mirzachowki four-lane road is progressing well with 79% of the work already completed. The administration has set a strict deadline to finish the remaining work by April 2026. This project, estimated at around ₹4,000 crore, covers approximately 100 km within the Bhagalpur district and is expected to significantly improve connectivity in the region.
New Funds Approved for Road Widening
Addressing the issue of traffic jams, Dr. Jaiswal announced administrative approval for two major widening projects. The Bhagalpur-Agarpur-Kotwali road will be widened to 10 meters with a budget of ₹114.02 crore. Additionally, ₹50.17 crore has been sanctioned for the Bhagalpur-Hansdiha stretch from Zero Mile to Lohia Bridge. The minister also mentioned the upcoming ₹30,000 crore Adani Power Project in Pirpainti during his address.
