Tragic Incident in Samastipur
In Samastipur, just 1 month and 18 days after the wedding, the in-laws beat and killed the bride. There was pressure to transfer land from the bride’s family. The bride’s father was unaware of the incident until he received a call at night informing him of his daughter’s murder. He immediately went to the in-laws’ house with the police and found his daughter’s body.
Arrest of Husband and Father-in-law
The police arrested the husband Rohit Shah and father-in-law Vijay Shah. The deceased Rohit Shah’s wife was Sanju Kumari (20). The incident took place in the Bajitpur village under the jurisdiction of the Vidhyapati Nagar police station. Relatives rushed to the hospital for the postmortem examination.
Pressure for Dowry
During the wedding, Sanju was given cash, a bike, and gold. However, after marriage, she was harassed by her husband and other in-laws. They demanded that her father transfer all his property to her name. Sanju’s father was kept in the dark about these demands, and the situation escalated to her tragic death.
Investigation and Legal Action
The police have registered a case against the husband and father-in-law for the bride’s murder due to dowry demands. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination at the local hospital. The primary focus is on bringing justice to the deceased and punishing those responsible for this heinous crime.
