Arrest of Accused
The Crime Branch team, along with the accused, arrested Ritesh Kumar alias Raja Singh from Silvassa in connection with the murder of Rohini Nandan, son of Harishchandra Das, a resident of Vikrampur in the Barhiarpur police station area in August 2023. The arrest information was provided by Begu. Surat Crime Branch Police Inspector K. Modi stated that the Surat Crime Branch had arrested the accused in a pre-planned murder case in Bihar a year ago. The police team was ensuring security arrangements during the festival season.
Details of the Crime
Two days ago, the Crime Branch team received information that Ritesh Kumar alias Raja Singh, a resident of Vikrampur in Begusarai, had murdered a youth a year ago with his accomplices. After committing the murder, the body was buried in the ground in the Choudahai police station area and he was hiding in Silvassa doing labor work. The Crime Branch team contacted the Choudahai police station based on the information obtained during the investigation.
Incident and Complaint
In May 2023, Ritesh Kumar’s brother Ranjan Kumar and his accomplices had entered Rohini Nandan’s house at night with the intention of theft. During the incident, Rohini Nandan’s brother Janaki Nandan woke up and started making noise. This led to an attack by Ranjan Kumar and his accomplices, causing serious injuries to Janaki Nandan, who then fled. After the incident, Rohini Nandan’s mother, Kari Devi, lodged a complaint at the Cheriya Bariarpur police station. Efforts were made to negotiate with the accused Ritesh Kumar, but they were unsuccessful.
Pre-Planned Murder
Rohini Nandan, the deceased, was also involved in cases of theft and robbery and had a notorious reputation in his village. Ritesh Kumar, along with his accomplices, planned the murder of Rohini Nandan to establish their dominance. On August 24, Ritesh Kumar lured Rohini Nandan to the border area of New Nagar over the phone and kidnapped him as soon as he arrived. He was then beaten and murdered with a pickaxe in the Bahiyar area of Shyampur village, and his body was buried in the ground. The police recovered the body on August 28.
गिरफ्तार आरोपी के साथ क्राइम ब्रांच की टीम ने बिहार के विक्रमपुर निवासी हरिश्चंद्र दास के पुत्र रोहिणी नंदन की अगस्त 2023 में हत्या के मामले में आरोपी रितेश कुमार उर्फ राजा सिंह को सिलवासा से गिरफ्तार किया है। रितेश ने रोहिणी को अपहरण करके उसकी हत्या कर दी थी और उसके शव को गाड़ दिया था। उसकी मां की शिकायत पर आरोपी ने समझौता करने की कोशिश की थी, लेकिन वह तैयार नहीं हुए थे। रितेश और उसके साथियों ने प्री प्लानिंग करके यह घटना की थी और अब उन्हें पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार कर लिया है।
