IIM-Ahmedabad’s regional president Akhtarul Iman has demanded the appointment of a Muslim leader as Deputy Chief Minister. He stated that the Muslim community and SC/ST have been facing discrimination by the government for years. He emphasized that the Brahmin, Kayastha, and backward castes have been given preferential treatment in the general category.

Iman further added that the Muslim community has been neglected in terms of employment, education, and development opportunities. He urged the government to address these issues and ensure equal representation for Muslims in positions of power.

The demand for a Muslim leader as Deputy Chief Minister comes at a time when political parties are focusing on minority vote banks. Iman believes that this step will not only empower the Muslim community but also promote social harmony and inclusivity.

Iman’s demand has sparked a debate among political circles, with some supporting the idea of representation for marginalized communities, while others argue that appointments should be based on merit rather than religion or caste. The outcome of this demand remains to be seen, but it highlights the ongoing struggle for equal opportunities and representation in Indian politics.
