What’s inside:
This article talks about a new QR code system for autos and e-rickshaws in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, aimed at improving traffic management.
Muzaffarpur city in Bihar is getting a tech upgrade for its traffic system. The local administration has decided to use QR codes for all autos and e-rickshaws operating on specific routes in the city. This change is meant to make things easier for everyone and improve the flow of traffic.
From now on, every auto and e-rickshaw will have a QR code. When you scan it, you’ll get all the necessary details about the vehicle, like the driver’s name, vehicle number, and the route it is supposed to take. This will help in quickly identifying vehicles and ensuring they follow their designated routes.
In total, around 4,800 autos and e-rickshaws will be in service, with 4,200 on fixed routes. The remaining 600 will operate in reserve areas. So, if you take an auto, you can easily check if it’s on the right route by scanning the QR code. The new system is expected to be in place soon.
The city has also been divided into four zones with different colors for easy identification. For example, Zone-1 is marked in Orange, Zone-2 in Purple, and so on. This will help both passengers and traffic police to identify which area an auto belongs to without confusion.
Starting January, autos from rural areas will not be allowed to enter the city unless they are carrying emergency patients. The administration is serious about enforcing these new rules to improve traffic conditions, showing that they are using technology and strict regulations to make things better.
