The Chief Minister’s Rural Road Strengthening and Management Program was recently launched in Nawada, Bihar. Rural Affairs Minister Ashok Chaudhary inaugurated the program at ITI Maidan, with several important figures like MP Vivek Thakur and District Officer Ravi Prakash attending the event.
The program, which was first announced by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar back in May and July 2025, aims to renovate a total of 581 roads in the district. In addition to the roadwork, 11 new bridges will be constructed, making travel easier for everyone in the area.
This initiative will cover a total distance of 811 kilometers and is set to cost around 700 crore rupees. So far, 448 roads have already been approved, measuring 678.728 kilometers in total, with an estimated cost of Rs 519.15 crore.
One of the standout features of this program is that the roads will be maintained for seven years. This will help improve traffic flow in several assembly constituencies, including Nawada, Hisua, and Warisleiganj, among others. Officials have been instructed to keep a close eye on the progress of the work.
Currently, there are 432 roads approved for the financial year 2024-25, which will cover 641.699 kilometers at a cost of Rs 423.789 crore. This is a significant step forward for the development of rural infrastructure in the region.
