Shocking Discovery of Alcohol Bottles in BN Mandal University Campus
Despite the ban on alcohol in Bihar, empty bottles have been found in the premises of BN Mandal University in Madhepura. This has raised questions about the university administration’s vigilance. Behind the Central Library of the university, several empty alcohol bottles, glasses, and snacks were found. Different brands of alcohol bottles found in the campus have sparked discussions.
Allegations of Alcohol and Drug Parties in University
Student leaders of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have accused the university of hosting alcohol and drug parties. The university president of RJD, Sonu Yadav, has accused some officials and employees of the university of hosting such parties, pointing to the empty bottles as evidence. Despite the installation of CCTV cameras worth lakhs, the university administration seems unaware of the source of the alcohol bottles.
Call for Investigation and Legal Action
The General Secretary, Prof. Vipin Kumar Ray, has confirmed the discovery of empty alcohol bottles and assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted followed by legal action. This is not the first time such incidents have occurred in the university campus. In July 2023, the university’s residential campus witnessed the seizure of 101 foreign liquor bottles by the Production Department team.
Security Concerns and Campus Safety
Despite the presence of a police outpost at the university gate, the entry of alcohol within the campus raises questions about the security measures of the university. The arrest of a fourth-grade employee’s son in connection with the alcohol seizure incident has also raised concerns about the safety and security of the university campus.
