Bihar Agriculture University, Sabour introduces new variety of Makhana

Bihar Agriculture University, Sabour has developed a new variety of Makhana called Sabour-1. Currently, cultivation of this variety is taking place in 35,000 acres of land. Compared to the traditional variety, the yield capacity of Sabour-1 is one and a half times higher. The university is also focusing on packaging, branding, and marketing the Makhana under the name of Mithila Makhana, which is expected to fetch a good price for the farmers.

बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय सबौर ने मखाने की नई वैरायटी सबौर-1 का इजाद किया है, जिसकी उपज क्षमता डेढ़ गुना अधिक है तथा फिलहाल 35 हजार एकड़ में इस वैरायटी के मखाने की खेती हो रही है। इसके साथ ही, बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय भी मिथिला मखाना के नाम से पैकेजिंग, ब्रांडिंग व मार्केटिंग कर रहा है जिससे किसानों को अच्छी कीमत मिलेगी।
