Bihar politics witnessed a massive turn on March 5 as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha. This move marks his potential exit from direct state governance after decades of leadership. However, his brother-in-law, Anil Kumar, has raised serious questions about this decision. He stated that the family was kept in the dark and termed the sudden move as a result of a deep conspiracy.

Why Anil Kumar called it a conspiracy?

Anil Kumar expressed his shock, stating that no one in the family knew about this major decision until the last moment. He believes that Nitish Kumar would not leave Bihar so abruptly without some external pressure or plot. He emphasized that the public voted for the alliance because of Nitish Kumar’s leadership, and leaving them now feels like a betrayal of the mandate. The family reportedly tried to talk to the CM throughout the night to change his mind, but he stood firm on his decision to move to Delhi politics.

Will Nishant Kumar be the next leader?

The conversation has now turned towards Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant. Anil Kumar praised Nishant, mentioning his strong educational background as a software engineer from BIT Mesra. He confidently said that Nishant is capable and could even become the Chief Minister in the future. JD(U) sources have also confirmed that Nishant is preparing to join active politics very soon to ensure the party remains strong and does not fade away after Nitish Kumar’s shift to the center.

What happens next in Bihar?

With the Chief Minister moving to the Upper House of Parliament, the formation of a new government in Bihar is now inevitable. Speculations are high regarding the next Chief Minister, with possibilities of a leader from BJP or a new face from JD(U) taking charge. While opposition leaders have criticized the move calling it a sign of pressure, party workers are waiting for the final announcement regarding the new leadership structure in Patna.
