Patna: Nitish Kumar ready to form government with BJP
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who recently parted ways with the RJD and Tejashwi Yadav, is once again ready to form a government with the BJP in Bihar. Sources say that a deal has been finalized between Nitish and the BJP, and the formula for the new government has also been decided. Nitish Kumar can resign at any time. Sources claim that Nitish Kumar can take oath with the BJP on January 28. However, in the ever-changing political scenario of Bihar, it is not so easy. Seeing Nitish’s attitude, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Prasad have started strategizing to save the government. Lalu Prasad Yadav has already made his first move.
Bihar News: Formula for the formation of NDA government in Bihar
Amidst the ongoing political events in Bihar to counter Nitish’s political moves, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav have come together in the majority. The RJD has offered the position of Deputy Chief Minister to Santosh Kumar Suman, the son of Jitan Ram Manjhi. Currently, Jitan Ram Manjhi has four legislators. Not only that, the RJD has also sought support from AIMIM, which has one legislator in Bihar. The RJD hopes to receive support from an independent candidate as well. If the RJD gets the support of Jitan Ram Manjhi and AIMIM, then Tejashwi can play a big game in Bihar and disrupt Nitish’s plan.
Analysis of Tejashwi’s chances in the number game
In order to understand the strength of each party in Bihar, it is important to understand the arithmetic of seats. Currently, the RJD has 79 seats in Bihar. With 19 seats from the Congress, 12 from CPI(ML), and 2 from CPI(M), the seat tally of the RJD alliance reaches 112. However, a majority in Bihar requires 122 seats. Now, if the RJD succeeds in bringing four legislators from Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party, one legislator from AIMIM, and one independent legislator to its side, then the RJD alliance will have a total of 118 seats. In order to touch the majority mark, they would need four more legislators. If Tejashwi manages to somehow break away JDU’s four legislators, then a different game can be played in Bihar.
