This article shares updates about several development projects launched by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in East Champaran.
Recently, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited East Champaran as part of his ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ to kick off many new development projects. During this trip, he was present for the installation of Sahastra Shivlingam at the Virat Ramayana temple in Kaithwaliya. The district’s DM Saurabh Jorwal mentioned plans for new facilities around the temple, including a hospital and a power sub-station.
As part of his visit, the Chief Minister announced 70 new schemes worth ₹172 crore for Motihari. This includes inaugurating 30 schemes valued at ₹138 crore and laying the foundation for 40 schemes worth ₹34 crore. He also inspected the ongoing work at the Dhanoti river bridge, which is reportedly halfway done and expected to be completed ahead of schedule.
In addition, the DM shared exciting news about Raxaul Airport’s expansion, with 153 acres already secured for this project. They are also in the process of acquiring another 139 acres. Several bridge projects are under review to ensure faster progress, which will support infrastructure development in the region.
Under a new initiative, the district administration is making it easier for people to resolve their complaints. Every Monday and Friday, officers from the Panchayat to District level will be available to meet the public directly. This aims to ensure a respectful and efficient resolution of issues.
Lastly, the Chief Minister reviewed the status of 12 major schemes from the Pragati Yatra to prepare a roadmap for timely completion. The district administration will now work in mission mode to enhance Raxaul Airport and improve rural roads, contributing to the overall development of the area.
