In recent days, there have been many cases of accidents in India. As people are getting more money, they are starting to buy cars for their convenience. Especially since the availability of finance, people have started buying cars in large numbers. As more and more cars are hitting the roads, the number of accident cases is also increasing. To prevent these accidents, people are being requested to adopt safety measures. However, if a Sikh is riding a bike without a turban, they must wear a helmet. Being a Sikh does not exempt them. People only get exemption for wearing a turban. Additionally, if someone has a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a helmet on their head, they can also avoid a fine with proper evidence.

If people are on a bike, they are told to wear a helmet. Four-wheeler drivers are instructed to wear seat belts. If this is not done, the drivers are fined. But did you know that there are some people in India who are exempt from wearing a helmet on the road? Yes, there is a group in India that does not get fined if they are caught riding a two-wheeler without a helmet. Do you know who these people are?

According to the Helmet Regulation and Law in India, it is mandatory for two-wheeler riders to wear a helmet. As per Section 129, anyone above the age of four who rides a bike or scooter must wear a helmet. This rule applies not only to the rider but also to the person sitting behind. If this is not followed, a fine of one thousand rupees has to be paid. Alternatively, the driving license can be suspended for three months. If the traffic police wishes, both penalties can be imposed.

Sikhs who wear turbans enjoy this exemption. There is a community in India, the Sikhs, who are allowed to ride bikes without helmets on the country’s roads if they wear a turban. No traffic police can issue a fine to them.
