Home Delivery of Sand and Gravel in Bihar
The Bihar government has launched a new initiative where people can order sand and gravel online and have it delivered to their homes. Through the “Baloo Mitra” portal developed by the Department of Mines and Geology, individuals can place orders for sand online. Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha stated that the state government is committed to providing high-quality sand at reasonable prices to the public, hence the development of the Baloo Mitra portal. The Bihar State Mining Corporation Limited has been authorized to operate this portal.
Ordering Process and Pricing
Customers can choose their preferred type of sand and gravel and place orders through the Baloo Mitra portal. The portal will display the selling prices set by authorized dealers and sellers. Transporters will also be registered on the portal, and transportation charges will be based on the type of vehicle and distance traveled per kilometer. Customers can input their details, address, type, and quantity of sand required, and after verification through OTP, the order can be confirmed.
Online Payments and Tracking
Deputy CM Sinha mentioned that customers can make online payments for their sand purchases. With the implementation of the portal, sand will be available to the general public at lower rates. Vehicle owners can also register their vehicles on the Baloo Mitra portal. They will need to provide details related to the vehicle, owner, and driver for verification through OTP. Once the order is confirmed, customers will receive information about the vehicle registration number, owner, and driver via SMS. The delivery process will be monitored through GPS tracking, allowing customers to track the vehicles.

The Baloo Mitra portal aims to bring transparency and efficiency to the sand procurement process in Bihar. By allowing customers to order sand online and track deliveries, the government is ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for the public. बिहार सरकार ने बालू और गिट्टी को लोगों के घर तक पहुंचाने के लिए “बालू मित्र” पोर्टल की शुरुआत की है। इस पोर्टल के माध्यम से लोग घर बैठे मोबाइल से बालू और गिट्टी का ऑनलाइन ऑर्डर कर सकेंगे। डिप्टी सीएम विजय कुमार सिन्हा ने बताया कि बिहार सरकार जनता को उचित मूल्य पर उच्च गुणवत्ता का बालू प्रदान करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। इसके लिए बालू मित्र पोर्टल विकसित किया जा रहा है जिसके माध्यम से लोग अपनी आवश्यकता के अनुसार बालू और गिट्टी का ऑर्डर कर सकेंगे। इसके साथ ही, वाहन मालिक भी अपने वाहन का रजिस्ट्रेशन बालू मित्र पोर्टल पर करा सकेंगे। ग्राहक भी वाहनों की मॉनिटरिंग जीपीएस के माध्यम से कर सकेंगे। इस पोर्टल के लागू होने से कम दाम पर बालू आमजन को उपलब्ध होगा।
