Concerns over Oxygen Plants in Mayaganj Hospital
After the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, people became aware of the importance of oxygen. However, as soon as the pandemic subsided, people started forgetting about its significance. Now, with the emergence of new variants like JN.1, the fear of oxygen shortage has resurfaced. In Mayaganj Hospital, the two oxygen plants that were installed are currently non-functional, posing a threat to the availability of oxygen. In case the number of cases increases, there could be a shortage of oxygen once again.
Non-functioning Oxygen Plants in Mayaganj Hospital
Mayaganj Hospital installed two oxygen plants with capacities of 1100 LPM and 300 LPM. However, both plants have been non-functional for several months. Currently, the entire burden of the hospital lies on a single storage plant. The District Magistrate, Subrat Sen, confirmed that one plant is functioning, providing sufficient oxygen. However, the other two plants have been out of order since October due to damaged filters. The filters have been taken for repair by the engineers and will be fixed soon.
Ongoing Oxygen Shortage Concerns
The ICU and Operation Theater of the hospital are currently facing difficulties in receiving oxygen from these plants. The lifespan of a PSA oxygen plant is typically 10 years, and if these plants remain non-functional, they will go to waste. With over 3,000 patients visiting the hospital daily, and more than 500 patients being admitted, the availability of oxygen is crucial. The authorities need to address the concerns and ensure that the oxygen plants are fully operational to meet the increasing demand.
सत्यम कुमार/भागलपुर के निवासियों को कोरोना के आने के बाद ही ऑक्सीजन का महत्व पता चला था, लेकिन जब कोरोना खत्म हुआ तब वे इसे भूल गए। अब कोरोना के नए सब वेरिएंट JN.1 ने दस्तक दी है जिससे लोगों को एक बार फिर से ऑक्सीजन कमी का डर सता रहा है। पहले भी सरकारी अस्पतालों में बड़े-बड़े ऑक्सीजन प्लांट लगाए गए थे लेकिन अब पूर्वी बिहार के सबसे बड़े अस्पताल मायागंज अस्पताल में बने ऑक्सीजन प्लांट के अस्तित्व पर खतरा है। दोनों प्लांट खराब हैं और प्लांट के आवयश्कता को संतुष्ट करने के लिए केवल एक स्टोरेज प्लांट है। इससे इस अस्पताल में आईसीयू और ऑपरेशन थिएटर में ऑक्सीजन नहीं पहुंच पा रहा है। यह एक चिंता का विषय है क्योंकि रोजाना इस अस्पताल में 3 हजार से अधिक मरीज पहुंचते हैं और 500 से अधिक मरीज भर्ती रहते हैं।
