What’s inside:

PACS presidents in Bhojpur and Buxar are threatening protests due to unpaid dues from the government.

In Ara, Bihar, there’s some important news regarding the PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Society) presidents from Bhojpur and Buxar districts. They have decided to take a stand against the government because they haven’t received payments after delivering Custom Milling Rice (CMR) to the state. They have given the government a deadline of 10 days to make the payments, or else they will protest strongly.

Satyendra Narayan Singh, who leads the Bhojpur District Central Cooperative Bank, mentioned that more than 400 PACS presidents are still waiting for their payments. While farmers have received their money on time, the PACS presidents are stuck in a dispute between the government and the cooperative department, which has led to this situation.

The PACS presidents are currently facing a financial crunch, with Bhojpur district having dues of Rs 86 crore and Buxar district over Rs 27 crore. Despite multiple meetings with officials and local representatives, they have only received assurances without any action taken to resolve the matter.

The situation is quite dire, and many PACS presidents are nearing starvation due to the lack of funds. In response to this crisis, they have announced plans to go to Patna on September 22. They intend to meet with the Cooperative Minister and the Chief Minister to discuss their issues and demand the payments owed to them.

If the government does not take any serious steps to address their concerns after their Patna visit, the PACS presidents have warned that they will resort to road blockades and protests to make their voices heard.

Summary:

  • PACS presidents are protesting due to unpaid dues.

  • They have a deadline of 10 days for payment.

  • Over 400 presidents are affected in Bhojpur and Buxar.

  • They plan to meet state officials on September 22.

  • Further protests will happen if issues remain unresolved.
