Why was Pappu Yadav arrested?

The police arrested Pappu Yadav in connection with FIR number 552/1995 filed at the Gardanibagh police station. The allegations state that in 1995, he rented a house and turned it into a political party office without taking permission from the landlord. The court had issued orders to seize his property after he failed to show up for court dates. He is currently kept in judicial custody at Beur Jail and was also treated at PMCH for health issues.

What happened at the Patna Court?

The court had scheduled his bail hearing for Monday morning. However, authorities received an email threatening bomb blasts on the court premises. This forced the administration to evacuate the area and stop work for the day. The police checked everything and found the threat was fake. The hearing was then rescheduled for Tuesday, February 10. Two other people are also named as accused in this old case.
