Independent MP Pappu Yadav was released from Beur Central Jail in Patna on February 13, 2026, after being granted bail in three separate cases. Instead of going home, the Purnia MP went straight to Phulwari Sharif to meet the family of a 16-year-old student who died under suspicious circumstances a day earlier. Yadav inspected the building where the incident took place and assured the grieving parents that he would stand by them. He demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and stated that those responsible for the death would not be spared.

Details of the Suspicious Death in Hari Nagar

The tragic incident happened on February 12 in Hari Nagar Colony, Phulwari Sharif. A Class XI student fell from the fourth floor of a building that houses a coaching center. Her family claims this was not an accident but a murder, pointing out that there was very little blood at the spot where she fell, which raises questions. CCTV footage from the area showed two young men following the girl into the building before the incident occurred.

Police have taken swift action based on the footage. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by SDPO-2 Sushil Kumar is handling the case. So far, three people have been detained for questioning, including two workers seen in the video and a guard of the building. Senior SSP Kartikeya Sharma also visited the site to personally check the details.

Protests and Yadav’s Statement on His Arrest

The death of the student sparked anger in the area, leading family members and locals to block the Patna-Aurangabad road near the AIIMS roundabout. They demanded a high-level probe and immediate justice. Pappu Yadav joined their call for justice and spoke about his own recent time in jail. He alleged that his arrest was part of a conspiracy involving a senior police officer and political rivals to stop his work.

Yadav vowed to take the legal fight to the High Court if necessary. He emphasized that despite the challenges and alleged plots against him, he will continue to raise his voice for the common people. The police are currently waiting for the post-mortem report from AIIMS Patna to confirm the exact cause of death.
