Gaya: The 24th Passing Out Parade (POP) at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya is scheduled to be held on December 9. Prior to that, on Tuesday, the winners of the Passing Out Parade course and cadets who excelled in various disciplines during their training were honored with medals. Lieutenant General PS Minhas honored all the cadets.

A day before the Passing Out Parade, on December 8, the cadets will showcase their multi-display activity, showcasing thrilling performances. The multi-activity display will include gymnastics, micro-light flying and acrobatics, horse show, dog show, and skydiving.

A total of 128 cadets will become officers in the army on the day of the Passing Out Parade. Officer cadets of Technical Entry Scheme (TES-42) and cadets of Special Commission Officer (SCO-51) will be commissioned as officers in the Indian Army. This time, a total of 128 cadets are going to become officers in the army, including 94 Indian cadets of TES-42, 27 cadets of SCO-51, 5 cadets from neighboring country Bhutan, and 2 cadets from Vietnam. Three cadets from Bihar are also going to become officers in the army this time.

Apart from Bihar, the maximum number of cadets will be commissioned from Uttar Pradesh (27), Uttarakhand (13), Haryana (10), Rajasthan (9), Delhi (6), Himachal Pradesh (6), Madhya Pradesh (6), Punjab (5), Maharashtra (4), Kerala (4), Karnataka (2), Assam (2), and one cadet from Telangana.

The Officer Training Academy, Gaya was established by the army on July 18, 2011, as the third Pre-Commissioning Training Academy. The emblem of the academy consists of two colors, with the upper half in French Grey, symbolizing strength and endurance, and the lower half in red, symbolizing supreme sacrifice. The academy’s emblem features two crossed swords with the ‘Dharmachakra’ (wheel of righteousness). The academy’s motto ‘Shourya Gyan Sankalp’ is inscribed in Devanagari below the scroll. The academy works towards preparing future military leaders for the Indian Armed Forces. The academy completed 13 years of its establishment in July 2023 and is now a prestigious institution of the Indian Defense Forces.
