The Patna City area is set to see some big changes in its electricity distribution. Under the RDSS scheme, the government has approved a budget of Rs 576.74 crore to improve the electricity system in 9 out of 13 divisions in Patna. This plan includes installing underground cabling and a smart monitoring system called SCADA-DMS.
This new setup will help stop electricity theft and minimize power cuts caused by technical issues. The project aims to make power distribution more reliable, ensuring that residents experience fewer interruptions in their service. The funding for this project will come from both the Central Government and the state. The Central Government will contribute 60% or Rs 346.04 crore, while the state will provide the remaining 40%, which is Rs 230.70 crore. Additionally, four more divisions—Danapur, Khagaul, Gulzarbagh, and Kankarbagh-2—will also benefit from this initiative. With the SCADA-DMS system, any faults in the power grid can be identified quickly, allowing for faster fixes.
