The crime took place in the Phulwari Sharif police station area of Bihar on March 9, 2026. According to the official police reports, the accused, identified as Gulfsha, lured her mother-in-law, Shabra Khatoon, into a room and locked the door. She stuffed a piece of cloth into Shabra’s mouth to stop her from screaming for help. Gulfsha then inserted chili powder into the elderly woman’s eyes and private parts. She continued to brutally beat the victim with a rolling pin and other heavy household objects. The victim’s granddaughter first noticed the situation and alerted the rest of the family members about the attack.
Why did the daughter-in-law commit this crime?
The primary reason behind this severe assault was an ongoing domestic dispute. Reports confirm that Shabra Khatoon recently complained to her son about Gulfsha’s abusive behavior and foul language inside the house.
