The timeline for the project has been updated recently. The main bridge structure is targeted for completion by December 2026. However, the entire route connecting to Hajipur is expected to open to the public in early 2027. Once operational, it will serve as a vital link for daily commuters and freight carriers who currently face heavy jams on the old bridge.

This major infrastructure initiative is being funded by the central government. The total estimated cost for the construction stands at ₹2,926.42 crore.
