What’s inside:

Patna has introduced new parking rules to ease traffic jams and improve organization on the roads.

Big changes are happening in Patna’s traffic system starting today. The traffic police are implementing new parking rules to tackle the growing traffic jams and messy parking in the city. This new system is effective from Sunday and affects important routes like from Income Tax Golambar to Dakbungla intersection, and from Buddha Marg to GPO Golambar.

According to the new rules, parking for both three-wheelers and four-wheelers is completely banned on these major roads. The traffic police have made it clear that if anyone parks illegally in these areas, they will face strict action. This is part of the effort to keep the roads clear and traffic flowing smoothly.

For those who need parking, there are alternatives available. A smart multi-level parking area with space for 96 vehicles has been set up in front of the planetarium for private cars going to Buddha Marg or ISKCON Temple. Three-wheelers can use the multi-model parking, and visitors to Mauryalok Complex should park at the smart facility located there.

To support these new regulations, Patna has also launched a real-time monitoring system to keep an eye on traffic issues like jams, illegal parking, and overspeeding. There are more than 3,300 cameras installed across the city, including CCTV and special cameras for detecting red light violations and speed limits.

The District Magistrate has instructed the Transport Officer to use these cameras to identify rule-breakers and issue fines automatically. This move is expected to reduce unnecessary obstacles on the roads, lessen traffic jams, and create a more organized parking situation in Patna.

Summary:

  • New parking rules in Patna come into effect today.

  • Parks are banned on key routes to reduce traffic jams.

  • Alternatives for parking are available at designated spots.

  • Real-time monitoring of traffic has been introduced.

  • Fines will be automatically issued for traffic violations.
