The new system will include boom barriers at the entry and exit points near Mahavir Temple. This means that vehicle movement will be better controlled. Passengers will have 8 minutes of free time for picking up and dropping off people. If they take longer, they will have to pay the parking charges.
With this upgrade, parking fees have also gone up significantly. For example, parking a car for 24 hours will now cost ₹500, instead of the previous ₹236. If you park for just 2 hours, it will now cost ₹80 instead of ₹60, and for 6 hours, the charge will be ₹200 instead of ₹90.
For two-wheelers, the fee for 2 hours will increase from ₹12 to ₹20, and for 24 hours, it will go up from ₹30 to ₹50. The Railway Administration is focusing on improving security and keeping things organized. They plan to use digital ticketing and CCTV cameras to help manage the parking area better.
The new parking rates will be effective from January 16, and the authorities believe these changes are necessary to provide better facilities for passengers. The aim is to create a safe and orderly environment at Patna Junction.
