Patna is witnessing a massive surge of devotees at the Mahavir Mandir on the occasion of Ram Navami. The temple gates were opened at 2 AM on March 27, 2026, and since then, long queues have formed across the city area. While nearly 2 lakh pilgrims have already completed their darshan, the administration expects the total number to cross 4 lakh by the end of the day.

Key Arrangements and Special Rules for Devotees

The temple administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth flow of pilgrims. For the first time, an 80-ton air conditioning unit has been installed in the sanctum sanctorum to provide comfort to those entering the temple. Additionally, 20 large LED screens have been placed outside the temple for live viewing of the rituals and ceremonies for those waiting in line.

  • Naivedyam Laddus: These are being sold at 370 rupees per kilogram with 24,000 kg prepared for the event.
  • Entry Timing: Devotees without flowers or offerings are allowed entry after 12:00 PM.
  • Health and Safety: Medical teams, ambulances, and 150 volunteers are stationed at the site.
  • Recognition: The first 10 devotees who entered the temple after opening were honored by the administration.

Traffic Restrictions and Security Measures in Patna

To manage the crowd, Patna District Magistrate S.M. Tyagarajan and SSP Kartikeya Sharma have deployed a robust police force and established extensive barricading. Traffic restrictions are in effect for March 27, with roads leading to the Mahavir Mandir closed to private vehicles. Alternative routes have been designated to ensure the safety of the 52 grand processions moving through the city.
