Patna Marathon, aimed at spreading the message of a drug-free Bihar, started on Sunday morning. Around 10,000 runners, including 12 athletes from Kenya and Ethiopia and athlete Anju Bobby George, participated in the marathon. 500 runners from other states and 9,500 runners from Bihar participated in the marathon, which was organized in four categories. The monitoring of the race is being done electronically, with participants wearing bands with chips connected to computers.

The district administration made thorough arrangements for the Patna Marathon. The event started from Gandhi Maidan, with participants arriving from 4 am onwards. The full marathon of 42 km and half marathon of 21 km started at 5:30 am, while the 10 km race began at 7 am. The 5 km race is scheduled to start at 8:30 am. The District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police are overseeing the event, with tight security arrangements in place. 150 soldiers, along with 40 officers, and 500 traffic police personnel have been deployed for security.

पटना मैराथन रविवार को नशामुक्त बिहार का संदेश देने के लिए आयोजित किया गया। केन्या और इथोपिया के 12 धावकों के साथ करीब 10 हजार धावक दौड़ रहे थे। इस मैराथन में देश के अन्य राज्यों से आए 500 और बिहार के 9500 धावक शामिल हुए। दौड़ की मॉनिटरिंग इलेक्ट्रॉनिक तरीके से की जा रही है और सुरक्षा के भी पुख्ता इंतजाम किए गए हैं। डीएम और एसएसपी खुद इसकी निगरानी कर रहे हैं।
