What’s inside:

Patna Metro is set to begin operations on October 6, 2023, with a 9 km route to ease traffic and save time for commuters.

Patna is all set to welcome its very own metro service! Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will kick off the first phase of the Patna Metro on 6th October 2023. This is an exciting development for the people of the city, as it promises to make travel much easier and faster.

The first phase will cover about 9 kilometers along the red line and will feature three stations: ISBT Station, Zero Mile Station, and Bhootnath Station. This metro service aims to reduce the heavy traffic on the roads and also help people save both time and money while commuting.

The metro will start operations at a maximum speed of around 40 km/h. Initially, there will be trains with three bogies, which can accommodate up to 1000 passengers in total. Out of these, 138 can sit while 900 can stand. This means a lot of people can travel comfortably at once!

Safety is a top priority for the Patna Metro. Each bogie will have 360-degree CCTV cameras and emergency buttons that connect directly to the driver. This modern technology aims to ensure a safe journey for all passengers.

The foundation stone for the Patna Metro was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 17, 2019. With the metro finally starting operations, many people are looking forward to a smoother and more efficient way to travel in the city.
