Patna is all set to become a metro city soon! The metro project is moving forward, and the countdown has begun. The state and central governments are sharing the cost, contributing 20% each of the total Rs 14,000 crore. The rest of the funding comes from the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The metro will operate at 12 stations, and the City Development Minister has announced that the metro’s operations are expected to start in September. Prime Minister Modi may come to Patna to inaugurate it around the end of the month, possibly on the weekend of September 29-30.

For the public, this means a new and efficient way to travel around the city. The trial runs for the metro trains have already been completed. These tests included checks on the tracks and running speeds, with the last tests conducted on September 17 at a speed of 40 kmph.

The first metro line, known as the Blue Line, will connect important locations like Patna Junction, Gandhi Maidan, and ISBT. The Red Line will have 14 stations, enhancing connectivity within the city. Both lines will allow easy transfers for passengers at Patna Junction and Khemanichak.

With the metro’s launch, Patna is poised to improve its transportation facilities significantly. This project is expected to attract more investment and urban development, making Patna a modern metro city in India.
