What’s inside:

Patna Metro’s first trial run has taken place, marking an important step towards better public transport in the city.

Patna Metro is finally here after a wait of four to five years! On Wednesday, the first trial run happened at the Bariyarpur Metro Depot, bringing smiles to the faces of Patna residents. The metro successfully completed tests on a 200-meter track, checking signals, tracks, trains, and safety systems. This was an exciting glimpse into Patna’s modern future.

During the trial run, the metro was tested for the first time on the depot tracks. Both inside and outside, it looked stunning. The new design of Patna Metro is beautiful from the outside, and even more impressive inside. The trial run on September 3 saw the metro moving on an 880-meter track within the depot to check for technical issues.

This metro project will change how people travel in the city. It promises to make commuting easier and more comfortable while also being environmentally friendly. The success of the first trial run has created a wave of excitement among the people of Patna, as the city is gearing up to become a true metro city.

Jivesh Mishra, the Minister of Urban Development and Housing, visited the Bariyarpur Depot and Zero Mile Station. He inspected the metro compartments, focusing on seating, signage, CCTV, and safety features, especially for differently-abled passengers. He appreciated the passenger-friendly design and modern infrastructure at Zero Mile Station and instructed to improve signage for clearer directions.

The Managing Director of Patna Metro Rail Corporation shared updates on the project’s progress, stating that they plan to start the metro service on the priority corridor by the end of September. The technical work, electrification, and fabrication are nearly complete. This elevated corridor will connect Malahi Pakri to New ISBT, covering a distance of 6.5 kilometers.
