Patna Municipal Corporation is naming parks and roads after notable personalities and freedom fighters of Bihar.

Patna Municipal Corporation has made a significant decision to honor prominent figures from Bihar by naming various parks and roads in the city. This initiative focuses on remembering the late folk singer Dr. Sharda Sinha, with a park being set up in Rajendranagar right in front of Judge DPS Chaudhary and Dr. SS Chatterjee’s houses.

Along with the park, a road nearby will also be named after her husband, Dr. Brajkishore Sinha, to ensure that their contributions are remembered. This is part of a broader effort to recognize important people who have made a mark in Bihar’s history.

Several roads that are vital for city traffic and connectivity will also receive new names. For instance, the road that connects Exhibition Road and Fraser Road will now be called Padmabhushan Dr. Dukhan Ram Marg. Another road connecting Ashiana-Digha will be named Mundar Shah Path, reflecting respect for local heroes.

In addition to parks and roads, places are being named after freedom fighters and philanthropists. A new park near Jeevak Heart Hospital will be called after freedom fighter Chandram Singh, while the park with Danveer Bhama Shah’s statue in New Punaichak will be named Bhamashah Park, showcasing Bihar’s rich history.

The Patna Municipal Corporation has also given new identities to other notable areas. The park in Patliputra Colony with Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s statue is now Atal Park, and the park in Chitkohra Punjabi Colony will be named Guru Gobind Singh Park. These steps reflect the city’s respect for various social and religious figures.
