A tragic incident has come to light from Phulwari Sharif in Patna, where a 16-year-old student died after falling from a coaching institute building. The incident took place on Thursday morning between 8:00 and 9:00 AM at a five-story building in Hari Nagar Colony near AIIMS Golambar. The victim, identified as Pinky Kumari, was a resident of Chakmusa. While initial reports suggested a fall, the family has alleged murder, leading the police to detain three suspects for questioning.

What did the police find in the CCTV footage?

The investigation took a serious turn after police examined the CCTV footage installed in the building. In the video, the student is seen climbing the stairs rapidly. Significantly, two young men are seen following her up the stairs shortly after. A few moments later, the girl fell from the building, and the same two youths were captured running down the stairs in a hurry. Based on this evidence, the police are now probing the murder angle deeply.

What are the family’s allegations and police action?

The family members of the deceased have stopped the cremation preparations and filed a complaint, alleging that the girl was assaulted and then murdered. They pointed out sharp injury marks on her body and a broken leg. They also raised questions about the lack of blood at the spot where she fell, which is unusual for a fall from such a height. Police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and called in forensic experts to collect evidence. The body has been sent to AIIMS Patna for a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.
