Details of the Firing Incident
The victims have been identified as Manish Kumar (32) and Manjeet Kumar (24), sons of Rajkishore Rai. According to reports, the brothers were having dinner when armed men entered the venue. Witnesses say the attackers fired between 20 and 27 rounds very quickly. Manish lost his life on the spot, and Manjeet died while being taken to the hospital. The sudden attack caused panic among all the guests present at the reception.
Reason Behind the Crime
The police believe this double murder is the result of an old land dispute. There was a conflict over a 6 to 7-acre plot of land that had been going on for nearly 40 years. The victims’ family had won a court case for this land five months ago. The main suspect is their cousin, Krishna Rai, along with another man named Prem and several others. The father of the victims said he had feared for their safety and asked for police help before, but the administration allegedly did not act in time.
