The Patna District Administration has taken strict action against the black marketing of LPG gas cylinders in the city. Following multiple complaints from local residents, Patna Sadar SDM Krityaka Mishra conducted a surprise raid at the Sulabh Indane Gas Service located in Phulwarisharif. The agency office and its warehouse were completely sealed after officials found the premises locked during operational hours while consumers waited outside. This crackdown is part of an ongoing anti-black marketing drive in the district to ensure regular supply.

Why was the gas agency sealed?

Local consumers reached the Sulabh Indane Gas Service to collect their domestic cylinders but found the gates locked without any prior notice. The sudden closure caused a shortage for genuine buyers and raised suspicions of illegal activities. People immediately complained to the administration about irregular distribution hours.

SDM Krityaka Mishra stated that the administration received consistent reports about the unavailability of cylinders for common citizens. The complaints highlighted that despite the agency having sufficient stock in its records, regular consumers were being turned away.

What did the officials find during the raid?

During the initial inspection, the administration found serious discrepancies between the physical stock available in the godown and the digital distribution records. Officials suspect that subsidized domestic cylinders were being illegally diverted and sold to commercial entities at higher unauthorized prices.

The SDM directed that both the office and the godown remain sealed until a complete audit of the stock register and distribution logs is finished. Action has been initiated under the Essential Commodities Act to prevent further illegal hoarding and black marketing of domestic gas.

How does this impact the common consumer?

The strict action brings relief to common citizens who face difficulties in getting their regular gas supply at government-mandated prices. The Patna district administration made it clear that severe legal measures will be taken against the agency owners if the allegations of stock diversion are proven after the probe.

This move sends a strong message to other gas distributors in Patna and surrounding areas to maintain transparent operations. It ensures that agencies prioritize regular household consumers and distribute LPG safely and legally.
