In a strict disciplinary action, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma has suspended Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Intaf Ali of Pirbahore Police Station. The suspension order came after the SI was accused of using abusive language and physically assaulting a car driver following a minor road accident near Ramghulam Chowk.

What happened at Ramghulam Chowk?

The incident occurred late in the evening on February 1, 2026, near the Gandhi Maidan area. Reports indicate that there was a minor collision between a car and a motorcycle ridden by SI Intaf Ali at a red light. Following the collision, the situation escalated quickly.

Witnesses stated that the Sub-Inspector stopped the car driver and began using highly objectionable language. It is alleged that the officer not only verbally abused the citizen but also physically assaulted him on the road. The unprofessional behavior was noted by bystanders and preliminary evidence confirmed the misconduct.

Action Taken by SSP Kartikeya Sharma

Upon receiving the information, SSP Kartikeya Sharma ordered an immediate inquiry. Finding the allegations to be true, he issued the suspension order on the morning of February 2. The SSP clarified that such behavior is a clear violation of the Bihar Police Manual.
