The incident occurred late in the evening on February 1, 2026, near the Gandhi Maidan area. Reports indicate that there was a minor collision between a car and a motorcycle ridden by SI Intaf Ali at a red light. Following the collision, the situation escalated quickly.
Witnesses stated that the Sub-Inspector stopped the car driver and began using highly objectionable language. It is alleged that the officer not only verbally abused the citizen but also physically assaulted him on the road.
