The CBSE Regional Office in Patna has taken a strict stand against two private schools for allegedly misleading the public with fake affiliation claims. On March 12 and 13, 2026, the board recommended filing a First Information Report (FIR) at the Gardanibagh Police Station. These institutions reportedly used the Central Board of Secondary Education name and logo without any legal authorization from the board.

Which schools in Patna are under the scanner?

The investigation has targeted two specific institutions in Patna that were found to be operating under false pretenses. The schools facing legal action include:

  • St. Paul’s International Boys and Girls School: Located in Sadhanapuri, Gardanibagh.
  • St. Paul’s International High School: Located in Police Colony, Anisabad.

During a surprise inspection conducted in January 2026, school representatives failed to produce mandatory documents. They could not provide land registration details or official student records to the inspection committee. It was discovered that these schools were using microscopic fonts for terms like “To Be” next to “CBSE Affiliated” on their hoardings to trick parents into enrolling their children.

How were these schools operating without affiliation?

The investigation revealed a proxy registration racket where these unauthorized schools were registering their Class 9 to 12 students through other legitimately affiliated schools. This practice is a direct violation of the CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws 2018. The board has warned that such registrations are illegal and can lead to the cancellation of student results during audits.

Issue Details found in Inspection
Logo Usage Unauthorized use of CBSE Delhi branding
Affiliation Status No official recognition from the Board
Exam Registration Illegal proxy registration via other schools
Compliance Refusal to show land and student records

Authorities have now signaled a statewide crackdown across Bihar to identify more private schools involved in similar fraudulent activities. Parents are advised to verify the U-DISE code and affiliation number on the official CBSE website before paying any admission fees.
