This article talks about the changes in the NH-131B road project from Navgachia to Chaudharydih, including road widening and flood protection measures.

Patna has announced some updates about the NH-131B four-lane road project that runs from Navgachia to Chaudharydih. The project plan has been revised, and now there won’t be a new flyover built near Zeromile. Instead, the current service road will be widened by 2 meters on each side, making it a total of 22 meters wide.

To enhance safety during floods, a dam will be built that is 900 meters long, connecting Mahadevpur Ghat to the new four-lane bridge. This dam will cost around Rs 9 crore and will help protect the road and nearby villages from flood damage. Additionally, an approach road will be built from Jahnavi Chowk towards Navgachia, which will link to the four-lane bridge.

With the new approach road to the Vikramshila Bridge and two more four-lane bridges, there will now be a six-lane road from Zero Mile to Jahnavi Chowk. The entire NH-131B project will be carried out in two phases. The first phase covering 9 km from Navgachia Zero Mile to Jahnavi Chowk will cost Rs 295 crore, while the second phase of 4.5 km from Barari Bypass Mode to Chaudharydih will cost Rs 111 crore.

The project also includes the construction of a 60-meter long Rail Over Bridge near Gopalpur to ease traffic. Two smaller bridges and vehicle underpasses will be built near St. Teresa School and the Airport in Barari Bypass. There will also be underpasses near Jahnvi Chowk and Tetri to help local traffic flow smoothly.

This new four-lane road will make travel between Bhagalpur and Navgachia faster and easier. It will connect with NH-33 towards Navgachia and other major corridors, improving regional links. This project aims to boost trade and traffic between South and North Bihar in the future.

Summary:

  • NH-131B road project from Navgachia to Chaudharydih updated.

  • Existing service road to be widened instead of building a new flyover.

  • A 900-meter dam will protect against floods.

  • New approach roads and bridges will improve traffic flow.

  • Project aims to enhance connectivity and trade in Bihar.
