People in Dumka district celebrated the first day of the new year by performing religious rituals and prayers at various religious sites. Temples such as Shiva Pahar, Gilaneshwarnath, Gopal Mandir, Sri Satyanarayan Mandir, Bada Bandh Thakurbadi, Dinanath Mandir Dangalpada, and Ashutosh Mandir Kanupara witnessed a large number of devotees. The Ashtayam ceremony at the Dharmasthans and Gilaneshwar Mandir concluded with a holy fire ceremony. Despite the strike by drivers, there was a slightly lower turnout. Local police were deployed for security, and people exchanged greetings for the new year. Youngsters enjoyed picnics and festivities throughout the block.
Thousands of people took a dip in the hot water springs at Tatloi, Sirsarnath Mandir, and Chutonath Mandir to perform morning prayers and rituals. Tatloi, located three kilometers northeast of Barapalasi on the Dumka-Bhagalpur main road, is a popular spot for bathing in hot water during the winter season. People from Jarmundi, Jama, Ramgarh, and Dumka block especially visit this place. The construction of a bridge over the Bhurbhuri River has made it more accessible for people from distant areas. Meanwhile, Chutonath Mandir and Sirsarnath Mandir witnessed a large number of devotees performing puja and archana on the occasion of the new year, while others enjoyed picnics in nearby areas and returned home in the evening.
An express train from Dumka to Patna will soon be launched, with halts at Hansdiha, Bhagalpur, Sultan Ganj, and Kiul.
दुमका जिले में नए साल के पहले दिन लोगों ने धार्मिक स्थलों में पूजा-अर्चना, प्रार्थना, हवन आदि के साथ मनाया। शहर के धर्मस्थान, शिवपहाड़, गिलानेश्वरनाथ, गोपाल मंदिर, श्री सत्यनारायण मंदिर, बड़ाबांध ठाकुरबाड़ी, दीनानाथ मंदिर डंगालपाड़ा और आशुतोष मंदिर कानूपाड़ा में श्रद्धालुओं ने पूजा की। धर्मस्थान और गिलानेश्वर मंदिर में चल रहे अष्टयाम का समापन हवन यज्ञ में पूर्णाहुति के साथ हुआ। काठीकुंड के दानीनाथ मंदिर में भी लोग पूजा के लिए आए, लेकिन चालकों की हड़ताल के कारण भीड़ कम थी। स्थानीय पुलिस बल ने सुरक्षा की व्यवस्था की। नए साल के मौके पर पिकनिक और मस्ती का माहौल भर में दिखा। पानी के कुंड में स्नान के लिए लोग तातलोई गर्म जल कुंड, सिरसानाथ मंदिर और चुटोनाथ मंदिर में गए। तातलोई दुमका भागलपुर मुख्य पथ पर स्थित है और शरद ऋतु में यहां लोग गर्म पानी में स्नान करते हैं। भुरभुरी नदी पर पुल के निर्माण से लोग दूर-दराज से इस जगह पहुंच रहे हैं। चुटोनाथ मंदिर और सिरसानाथ मंदिर में भी लोग नववर्ष के अवसर पर पूजा करने गए और उनके आसपास क्षेत्रों में पिकनिक का आयोजन किया गया। दुमका से पटना के लिए जल्द एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन चलेगी और हंसडीहा, भागलपुर, सुल्तानगंज और किउल में ठहराव होगा।
